Enough Anna Nicole

Can't America just get over its fascination with celebrities? I guess not. The latest evidence being the non-stop 24/7 craziness surrounding the death of Anna Nicole Smith. Can't we just let this poor pathetic woman rest in peace. I mean she lost her sone, she was estranged from her mother, even she did not apparently know who the father of her newest baby was. She couldn't act, couldn't talk, and was barely able to know what was going on around her. Can't we just leave her alone?

Obama says Troops lives wasted

Rarely do things get me as frustrated as a statement like the one Senator Barak Obama made that our troops who have died in Iraq are lives wasted. You can tell he is not a veteran! And while that is not a fatal flaw in a candidate for President it is a serious question mark given his comments. And, yes I know that he now claims that his tongue slipped.

I suspect his original comment is closer the truth of where his heart lies. He is a man who prides himself on having a compassionate heart and one with which he is carefully in tune. I believe him and take him at his word on that point. That's why I think this apology is a non-starter cooked up by his handlers. The problem with Obama and all liberals is that they detest war and any of our nations strength to wage it so much that they really do believe there are not principles worth dying for. And that leads them to think the deaths of soldiers are worth nothing. I had hoped I could find a reason to vot e for this man even thoguh I know he is a tax and spend liberal. That he is also anti soldier is a source of real disappointment exceeded only by his agreeing to his handlers convincing him to say that he had a slip of the tongue.

Resolving to not be afraid

It is so easy in this world today to be fearful! I can get that way too easily! I worry most about the fact that radical Muslim terrorists will separate me from my family and loved ones. I know there is little I can do about it and so it is a bit of an irrational fear. But, isn't most fear irrational! I would love to be able to embrace Muslims as yet another rich religion contributing to the fabric of this nation and the world. But, where are the Muslim leaders who want to tone down the raidcal messages of hate that seem to be everywhere? I would like them to stand up and say something very directly about the 109 verses in the Koran that seem to want me and my family dead. Where are these good people who will take a stand for moderation and acceptance? Are they living in fear also?
